Pre-K and Kindergarten Author Visit

We are excited to offer our Pre-K and Kinder students an amazing author/illustrator opportunity on September 5th. Thanks to Blue Willow Bookshop, we will be hosting New York Times bestselling creators Derrick Barnes and Vanessa Brantley-Newton as they share their experiences as writer and illustrator of their picture book, The King of Kindergarten.

Please consider supporting Blue Willow by purchasing an autographed book as a keepsake from this event. Book orders are open to anyone in the school – not just Pre-K and Kinder. If you would like to purchase a book for someone in a different grade, or to give one as a gift, you can list the name of your child’s teacher and the books will be delivered to them on the afternoon of the 5th.

Sister School Program

We Need Your Help!

Our Sister School, Spring Shadows Elementary, has ongoing needs for the Blessing in a Backpack program. Blessings in a Backpack is a weekend food program for children at risk of going hungry. Wilchester helps by collecting food donations each month and by delivering bags to students at Spring Shadows every Friday.

Bayou City Blessings in a Backpack will continue collecting monthly Food Focus items throughout the year. The collection box is located in the front foyer, and the donated food items help offset the cost of the Blessings bags.

August food focus: Canned tuna and chicken
September food focus: Oatmeal (individually packaged)

We are also collecting CAN OPENERS. Blessings in a Backpack often provides canned food items, and we want to make sure families have a way of opening them. Please drop in the Blessings box.

Blessings in a Backpack deliveries will begin after Labor Day. Be on the lookout for the sign up.

For additional information regarding our Sister School program, please contact our 2019-20 chairs:

Kroger Community Rewards!

Kroger logo
Wilchester PTA is now registered for Community Rewards through the Kroger Rewards Card!  This means every time you shop at Kroger and use your Rewards card, WCE PTA will receive a percentage of what you spend.  All participants must first register our school with your Rewards card.
Go to and log in.  If you do not have a log in you can easily create one, it only takes a few seconds.  Then search for Wilchester PTA or input our number, AF975.  That’s it!  Your card is now active!  Just use your Kroger Card each time you shop and to help benefit Wilchester!

Randall’s Good Neighbor Program

Did you know that shopping at Randall’s can earn money for our school? Wilchester earns significant “free” income dollars from all of the families supporting Wilchester with the Randall’s “Good Neighbor Program”.  When you shop and swipe your Randalls Card, a percentage of your bill will be automatically donated back to Wilchester.  Click here to print a Good Neighbor Program form.  Simply fill it out and submit it to the Courtesy Booth at your local Randalls.

You need to register to a volunteer through SBISD to be able to volunteer at the school and in the classroom. Please do this by October 1st. Click here to register to volunteer with SBISD. This needs to be redone every year. If you plan to volunteer at multiple schools in SBISD, you can check the boxes for each school on the same application.
You can join Wilchester PTA by clicking here. This also needs to be renewed every school year.

The PTA holds an Auction every other year.  The 2019-2020 school year will not be an Auction year.
