Nathan Hale Author Visit

Order Nathan Hale Books by THIS SUNDAY!

Nathan Hale is Coming to Wilchester!
Author/illustrator Nathan Hale will visit the students in 3rd- 5th grade on
Thursday, Oct. 25th
to share his experiences with the writing process and the newest book in the Hazardous Tales series, Lafayette!  The series presents history’s craziest stories as graphic novels.

If you would like to buy a signed copy of one of his books, please purchase at the link below by Sunday, Oct. 14th.  There are FIVE titles to choose from and all are fantastic!

SPIRAL Parents, students will return a few minutes early from SPIRAL to be a part of the author visit.

Walk for the Cure!

JDRF One Walk

 

Did you know we have 2 students here at Wilchester living with Type 1 Diabetes? Come join us for the annual JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) walk on Nov 3 at NRG stadium at 9:30am.

Many kiddos have been participating in morning movers or the after school run club. Come join Team Wilchester (headed by Jennifer Whalen and Paula Baker) at the JDRF walk – it is a neat way to see them get active for a great cause since two of their classmates have Type 1 Diabetes. What a great way to give back and get exercise!!

Any donation is appreciated and please don’t feel any pressure- we would just like to see them supporting their classmates!!

The Scholastic Book Fair raises valuable funds for our library and we need your help to make it a success! Please consider volunteering to setup, take down, or work an hour during the week of Oct. 22 – 26.

Auction Tickets on Sale NOW!

 

Her Majesty’s Secret Service invites you to spend an evening raising funds for our beloved Wilchester Elementary School, while sharing a martini, shaken, not stirred, with other secret agents and mystery women.

Join us November 10th at 6:00 pm at The Westin Houston, Memorial City. License to Bid includes dinner, silent auction, big board, live auction, raffle items, games, late night food and entertainment.

Bond together for a great cause! License to Bid General Admission tickets are $100 per person and include dinner, silent auction, big board, live auction, raffle items, games, late night food and entertainment. Tables seat 10 and you can request your tablemates when purchasing tickets or can request to be seated with other guests from your grade level.
You will need to register with 501 Auctions before you can purchase tickets!

This registration will allow you to purchase raffle tickets, as well as tickets for the wine pull, grab bags, and the heads or tails game. All are available for purchase today! When purchasing tickets, you may choose to cover the credit card fees associated with your purchase that would be charged to the PTA.

Odyssey of the Mind

Attention Kings and Queens of Creativity, Problems Solvers Large and Small and Out of the Box Thinkers, Leaders and Team Players: Odyssey of the Mind at Wilchester Might be Right for YOU!

Interested Wilchester Students and Parents are invited to an Odyssey of the Mind information session and to meet other interested families on Thursday, September 27th, from 5-6PM in the library. We will explain the process, timeline and current team formations at WCE, and answer any questions you may have. It will be a great opportunity to meet other interested families and assess coaching opportunities

Our Regional Odyssey leaders are also hosting a more general information session : Houston Region Awareness meeting for Parents and Teachers on Saturday September 29th, from 1 to 3 pm, at the Awty International School, 7455 Awty School Lane. No rsvp necessary. You will learn why students are begging to join a team. It is a fun, educational way to learn how to solve problems. “The sport that isn’t a sport…”

Randall’s Good Neighbor Program

Did you know that shopping at Randall’s can earn money for our school? Wilchester earns significant “free” income dollars from all of the families supporting Wilchester with the Randall’s “Good Neighbor Program”.  When you shop and swipe your Randalls Card, a percentage of your bill will be automatically donated back to Wilchester.  Click here to print a Good Neighbor Program form.  Simply fill it out and submit it to the Courtesy Booth at your local Randalls.

Volunteer

 

You need to register to a volunteer through SBISD to be able to volunteer at the school and in the classroom. Please do this by October 1st. Click here to register to volunteer with SBISD. This needs to be redone every year. If you plan to volunteer at multiple schools in SBISD, you can check the boxes for each school on the same application.
You can join Wilchester PTA by clicking here. This also needs to be renewed every school year.

Coming November 10th

Shop or dine at City Centre without the hassle of finding a parking space!
We will be auctioning off a reserved parking space at City Centre for one year at the Wilchester Auction in 2018. A quick shopping trip or a fun date night out without the worry of finding a parking space for one whole year will go to the highest bidder on November 10th!

The Auction Committee is off and running on securing donations for the auction but we still need your help! We are accepting auction donations now.
