The following links may be something of interest to parents and students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 who are now in their pre-test phase of the Texas State-required Fitness Gram. The students are testing the components of fitness, learning which test measures what component, charting their information on a graph to help them learn to set personal private fitness goals. After charting, they will be learning the F.I.T.T Principle, which are the 4 ways to improve on their personal fitness goals. After applying the F.I.T.T. principle and taking their post-Fitness Gram Test later this school year, they will reflect on their original goals to determine if they accomplished their goals.

My name is Brandon Stribling I am the Director of Health at Family Point Resources  and Founder of FPR SPEED Youth Running Club.

I would like to have more student athletes and parents from Wilchester Elementary School involved  with the club. We connect with many of our participants and familes through the Advance Movers  Intiative, and the Wilchester Mens Club is one of our Proud Sponsors. We have a very diverse community and we use running as a tool to help create opportunities and foster a love and appreciation for one another. Our hope is to have representatives from each SBISD campus participate in our initiative.

This is a great opportunity for students and parents to be exposed to travel, athletic opportunities, community engagement and positive peer mentorship. Our program serves boys and girls age 7 and up. Parents also have the choice to run with the kids as well. We currently have 134 runners from the Memorial area. We also provide Financial assistance and transportation for anyone in need. Our goal is to eliminate any obstacles that may prevent a child from having an opportunity to participate.

I can stop by or meet anytime you are available. If you have any kids you think may be interested please let me know. Most of your colleagues or fellow Health Leads have me attend classes on their Jog Days or during their Pacer Testing. I speak to the kids about the benefits of running and how it is a lifetime sport. This takes place usually the first or last 5 minutes of class.
